About Us

Hansen Motorsports LLC has a rich racing history. Team owner Bill Hansen started racing 45 years ago as both a driver and team founder. His racing career includes driving stock cars on Washington state Short Tracks and Sprint cars in the Midwest. His career also included Stock Block Indy cars in the American Indy Car series where he was a perennial three-championship points finisher.

Since retiring as a driver, Hansen has continued to build Hansen Motorsports and is involved in the driver development of Todd Hansen – believing three important elements exist that lead to success: “Intelligence. Courage, and “Velcro” – where a successful driver becomes “part of the car” each time he cinches up the belts.


Todd Hansen
Todd began racing when he was 16 years old. For the past 3 years, Todd has led the team’s crew overseeing all car setup and mechanical decisions. Todd Hansen is a former Minneapolis All-City hockey player and excelled in the sport of baseball. He is an avid hunter and fisherman. Having started his racing career at age 16, Todd has more than 100 wins. He started in the ARCA Re/MAX Series in 2006 a nd has had 3 top 10 finishes. Todd has further refined his racing skills with experience racing on short and intermediate tracks as well as superspeedways and restrictor plate programs in the NASCAR Elite Series in 2002 and 2005. In additional to his ARCA Re/MAX results, Todd’s credentials include: Minnesota Late Model/Super Late Model Champion, I-94 Raceway, Sauk Centre, Minnesota Super Late Model Champion; Fergus Falls Raceway, Fergus Falls Minnesota Late Model Challenge Series Champion Twin Cities Legend Champion Raceway Park Short Tracker Champion. Todd has a Bachelor’s degree in business from St. Thomas University and has turned a passion and recreation for racing into his profession.

Skip Pollack – Manager, Shop Operations

Skip Pollack is a 40-year veteran of racing who has competed and won championships at a number of Minnesota racetracks. Since 1975, Skip has crewed for local race teams in Minnesota and national teams that competed in the Winston Cup series (subsequently called the Nextel Cup and currently called the Sprint Cup). In addition Skip has owned and managed a racecar parts and chassis shop that further helped him develop the skills necessary to be classified as an expert in chassis, roll-bar and sheet metal fabrication.

Daniel Peterson – Car Chief

Dan is a long time associate and hockey teammate of Todd Hansen. He has been affiliated with Hansen Motorsports since Todd started racing in the ARCA Re/MAX Series in 1996. During this twelve year period Dan has developed and honed his skills as both a race car mechanic and parts builder and is considered by his racing peers as an excellent fabricator.

Rob Grave – Tire Specialist

Rob comes from a racing family who have all been involved - at many different levels of the sport. Rob started working on race cars in 1996 and has developed and honed his skill as a builder and mechanic. Rob has served as Todd’s Tire Specialist since 2006. Prior to 2006 Rob served four years as a crew member for a family member’s race team serving as both a mechanic and tire specialist

Scott Hansen – Fuel Specialist/Gas Man

Scott is the brother of Todd and is a good racecar driver in his own right. Scott has been involved with Todd’s professional driving career by assisting in all of his racing activi ties since 1996. Since 2006 Scott has served as Todd’s Fuel Specialist. Scott is also a certified maintenance technician.

Scott Brandt –Spotter, Shock & Suspension Specialist

Scott is also a racecar driver that has competed with Todd in Minnesota Legends and Super Late Models competitions. Scott has been involved in the sport of racing most of his life and in particular with Todd the last eight years. Since 2006, Scott has served as both a mechanic and race-day spotter in addition to the Shock and Chassis Specialist.
