Supporting research that will help find a cure for Type 1 (commonly referred to as "juvenile diabetes") is special for Hansen Motorsports, LLC. 

Todd was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 13 months.  He manages his diabetes exceptionally well and is proof that this disorder does not have to affect the life you lead and the profession you choose.  Many athletes with diabetes have excelled in their chosen sport and Todd joins them to let others know if they choose to pursue a sport or other active lifestyle or profession, they can do well too. 

Todd is a role model for families with children diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and encourages both parents and kids to work together to make it ‘just something you deal with each day without letting it control you’.  Todd encourages kids to work hard to make their life’s dreams and ambitions a reality.

Hansen Motorsports LLC commits its time, energy and financial resources to help support organizations that are dedicated to scientific/medical research and to helping raise awareness for the ongoing need for financial support. 

Todd has supported the efforts of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) since 2007.  His support will continue in 2009.  In addition, Todd and Hansen Motorsports, LLC are proud to add Speed the Cure Foundation to the organizations they support.  Speed the Cure Foundation is committed to working with families and up-and-coming athletes with Type 1 diabetes and wants them to know they can do more than lead a "normal life" ... they can lead "exceptional lives".
